Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 25 June to 8 July 2025. The service is a nursing home providing support to adults, some of whom live with dementia. The service is registered to support up to 61 people. At the time of our inspection, 60 people were living at the service. This inspection was to follow up on previous enforcement action we took against the provider at our last inspection. The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, good governance and person-centred care. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. Since our last inspection, care plans and risk assessments had been reviewed and updated. People were involved in managing their risks and reviewing their care and support. Staff supported people safely, in line with their care plans. Records were fully completed and monitored to ensure people received care and support in line with their assessed needs. Infection, prevention and control risks were safely managed, and people were cared for in a clean, well-maintained environment. Medicines were managed safely. Staff went the extra mile to provide compassionate care. People had access to an extensive range of activities and facilities to promote independence and well-being. The provider was excellent at promoting staff well-being. Various initiatives were implemented to support staff and celebrate good practice. Staff enjoyed working at the service and felt motivated to provide person centred care. People received person centred care, and they were involved in decisions around their how they wanted to be supported. Feedback was actively encouraged and acted upon. There were various avenues for people to feedback, which included meetings, surveys and relevant procedures to make formal complaints. Records reflected people’s wishes for how they wished to be cared for at the end of their lives. The service was well-led. Leaders were visible, approachable and led by example. Support for leaders was in place to ensure effective oversight and compliance. Governance systems were now effective in monitoring key risk areas and driving improvements. The provider had addressed all areas of concern identified at our last inspection and demonstrated a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement, utilising technology well to support this.
