CQC Location ID:1-114131554
Date of assessment: 9 to 15 October 2025. This service is a residential care home providing support to older people. The inspection was prompted in part by notification of an incident following which a person using the service sustained an injury and subsequently died. This incident was investigated by CQC, and it was determined no regulatory action was required. However, it was agreed to conduct an inspection which looked at the quality statements relevant to this incident, to gain assurance the provider had taken action to minimise future risks and other people were protected from any avoidable harm. The environment was safe, facilities and equipment met people’s needs, were clean and well-maintained. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to meet people’s needs and provide safe care. Managers ensured staff received training and regular supervision to carry out their roles effectively. The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Any issues or incidents had been investigated with actions set, outcomes recorded, and lessons learned. Risks to people had been assessed with management plans in place. People and relatives were involved in assessments of their needs. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs.
People told us they felt safe living at the home, receiving support from staff who were well trained and knew their needs. One person stated, “I feel very safe here. The staff come quick when I press my buzzer, they are all very friendly and caring and I get the support I need.” Relatives also spoke positively about the care provided. One told us, “The staff seem very connected, they know people well. I’ve no concerns about the care, or [relative’s] safety here.” People told us they knew how to report any issues or concerns but had not needed to. One person said, “I’ve never had to complain but I would speak to [staff names] if I had any issues. However, all my needs are met, there’s nothing which could be done better.” People and relatives knew all members of the management team and felt the home was well run. They told us managers were a visible presence in the home and communication was good. Relatives said they were kept informed of any issues, such as illness, accidents or incidents.
